Growing together.Under direction of the department chief, nurse leader or designee, the nurse's responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for a complex patient population. The triage nurse duties include but are not limited to: Providing telephone triage and clinical advice appropriately; coordinating follow-up care of patients, providing patient education, case management support, and practice management support. The role requires clinical expertise, critical thinking, collaborative practice, excellent communication skills and an understanding of the principles and practices of Oncology.
Position Details:
- Location: 133 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA
- Department: Oncology
- Schedule: 30HRS Weekly, days to be determined
Primary Responsibilities:
- Build therapeutic and supportive relationships with patients and families, providing education and managing care transitions
- Conduct telephone triage, escalate concerns appropriately, and support the clinical team with ongoing care coordination
- Deliver patient education and instructions for pre- and post-infusion care; maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality
- Coordinate treatments with hospital partners
- Assists patients/families with services including but not limited to primary care, specialty care visits, skilled homecare, palliative care, hospice care (including hospice residence), and/or skilled nursing facility, to ensure appropriateness of services and expedite transitions of care
- Facilitates communication between patients' hospital-based care team and practice based care team when needed or requested
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, mentor nursing staff, and uphold high standards of patient service and safety
- Maintain compliance with safety standards, credentialing, and certifications (BCLS, and specialty certifications)

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completed an accredited Registered Nurse education program
- Active and unrestricted RN licensure in the state of MA
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Experience in oncology or infusion nursing
- Solid understanding of chemotherapy and infusion protocols
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Oncology setting
- Experience with an electronic medical records system, EPIC experienced
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $43.63 - $81.04 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
