NURSE MANAGER – OPERATING ROOM
Salary Range: $144,210 – $162,236

We’re looking for a Nurse Manager who can develop and implement short- and long-term goals while providing strong clinical and administrative leadership for the Operating Room. Bring your sound judgment, collaborative approach, and commitment to continuous improvement to a team focused on safe, high-quality patient care.
In this pivotal position, you’ll have 24-hour accountability for the overall management and leadership of the Operating Room. You’ll work closely with physician leadership and multidisciplinary teams to support quality patient care, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities will include strategic planning, fiscal management, staffing, recruitment, employee development, oversight competency, performance improvement, patient safety, and staff retention. You’ll also serve as a clinical role model, helping your team navigate challenges, maintain high standards of practice, and continually improve departmental outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement short- and long-term departmental goals aligned with hospital priorities
- Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain nursing staff while ensuring appropriate staffing levels and competencies
- Manage departmental budgets, staffing resources, productivity, and cost-control initiatives
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission, Department of Health, CMS, and other regulatory requirements
- Lead quality improvement, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives
- Promote patient, employee, and physician satisfaction by addressing concerns and implementing improvements
The ideal candidate has:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; Master’s Degree preferred
- Current New York State RN license
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- 3–5 years of progressively responsible nursing leadership experience
- Demonstrated leadership in patient care, quality improvement, and unit-based outcomes
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency and the ability to work effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
