LPN Rate of Pay $17.04/hr.-$19.17/hr.

RN Rate of Pay- Commensurate

The Assistant Occupational & Student Health Nurse will work in a collaborative and integrated manner with and report to the lead Occupational & Student Health Nurses at OSU Center for Health Sciences. This position is responsible for promoting the health and safety of all employees and students at the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine at Cherokee Nation campus in Tahlequah, Oklahoma by providing ongoing support and expertise through disease and injury detection, prevention, and treatment.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Reporting directly to the lead nurse

- Assisting the lead nurse in student and employee health-related correspondence by email and by phone and other related organizational tasks

- Administering TB tests, vaccinations, routine lab draws, in addition to diagnostic tests including but not limited to, strep, flu, and COVID-19.

- Assisting the Safety Officer with mask fitting exercises and other health and safety exercises.

- Assisting with worker's compensation and exposures as needed

- Working with lead nurse and possibly other OSU Clinics and Departments, as needed, to support all necessary healthcare, wellness, or safety activities

Environmental Hazards:
Possibility of exposure to contagious diseases, medical waste, blood and body fluids, latex, etc.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and assist patients, both adults and children, observe patients visually, and communicate verbally. Ability to stand, bend stretch, stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, walk and run with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required:
-Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Professional Nurse in the State of Oklahoma or eligible to become licensed prior to initiation of duties

-Experience in Occupational Health or Family Medicine; minimum three (3) years' clinical experience

-Valid Driver License

Skills, Proficiencies, and Knowledge:
Excellent assessment, computer, communication, writing, training, and organizational skills.

Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field

- Certifications in Occupation Health or equivalent
